The MDC@NU club members, our family, and friends got together for a camping event from Friday, August 17 - Saturday, August 18, 2019 to relax, unwind, enjoy the outdoors and learn more about the Mission Trails Regional Park. We had a lovely summer weekend outdoors. Kumeyaay Lake Campground is an ideal location for an overnight camping trip with family and friends if one opts to camp in San Diego County. We learned more about wildlife at the campgrounds especially raccoons.
Our children gathered together with other children at the park and attentively listened to stories about raccoons from the seasoned park ranger. The children also made an interesting raccoon puppet craft that they excitedly took home. This was an exciting way to end the summer break and also a good way for the NU adult learners to take some time to participate in healthy outdoor activities and enjoy some family and friends social events.
